Honorable Mention PNW Fall Destinations

Honestly, this list could go on and on forever, the PNW is gorgeous in the fall. Every year when October rolls around, I fall in love with this area all over again and somehow forget about the 9 months of gray that are awaiting us!

If you have extra time a few other of my favorite places to check out are North Cascades National Park, and Mount Rainier National Park, but always check with NPS before you head out, as both parks are likely to have had snowfall by October and some areas may be closed.

This small town is a wind-surfing haven that also transforms into an apple and pear wonderland come fall. A quick drive along the “Fruit Loop” will expose you to farm stands, wineries, and jaw-dropping views of Mt. Hood.

Part of the San Juan Islands, Lopez is often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors. Yet, its laid-back vibe and bike-friendly roads make it ideal for a relaxed, off-the-beaten-path adventure.

Gold Beach, Oregon

Known for its untamed coastline and Rogue River, Gold Beach is perfect for jet-boating and fishing. Autumn brings fewer crowds and a chance to witness the incredible sea stacks against a fiery sunset.

Whidbey Island, Washington
