Essential Oil Blends that smell like a Disney Vacation
Are you missing the magic and wondering how to make your home smell like Disney?
You’re in the right place! These fun essential oil blends will transport you right to the parks, without the crowds!
Part of the MAGIC of Disney is how it SMELLS.. am I right? If you don’t instantly shout YES! This post may not excite you.
But if you get it, then you get it. It just smells like “magic”. I used to say things like “I can’t wait to smell pirates” or “This bakery smells like Main Street”.

Bringing the magic home
As a huge Disney fan, and someone who gets seriously nostalgic over smells, I have compiled a list of Disney smells that can be replicated with oils. They aren’t perfect ok, I’m not an Imagineer, but they are close, and they are yummy.
A lot of the oils are used in multiple recipes so once you have a good stockpile of oils you can do a lot of different things.

➡️ Search for the PERFECT Essential Oil Diffuser
Ok, are you ready? The following recipes are meant to be in a diffuser. Fill your diffuser with water, and add a few drops of the oils, take a deep breath, and soon these smells will be filling your home!
Oh, and one more thing… some of these are perfume oils or synthetic scents because not everything is an essential oil.
Disney Smells: Food
Main Street

Ah… Main Street, home sweet home. Not only is this one of my favorite Disney smells, but it is also the easiest recipe.
That yummy warm scent that emits from Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor is sure to transport you straight to the heart of Disneyland
- 6 drops of Vanilla Scent
- Bam! Done.
Churro

You don’t go to Disney and not get a churro! Right? I’ve got an easy way to make your home smell like a delicious treat without the calories.
- 4 drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
- 2 drops Vanilla Scent
Dole Whip
YUM! My favorite. I love being tucked away by the Tiki Room and enjoying a delicious Dole Whip. Oh man, I’m drooling just thinking about it!

- 3 drops Vanilla Scent
- 3 drops Pineapple Essential Oil
Mint Julep
How I long to be in New Orleans Square sipping a refreshing mint Julep. Until then, my kitchen can smell like one.

- 4 drops Spearmint Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lime Essential Oil
Speaking of Disney Food, I’ve also compiled a list of our favorite at-home Disney Recipes!
Disney Smells: Rides
So now we are hungry for Disney! Let’s take on the Disney smells from a few of my favorite rides.
Pirates of the Caribbean

This will always be Disney to me. This is the one that makes my trip complete. The damp, dark ride, the songs, the twinkling fireflies, the shooting cannons, and that pirate smell. If you have ridden it, you know.
Here’s the best copycat smell. You’ll be singing “yo-ho, yo-ho” in no time. It’s not quite as “musty” as the ride, I’m still working on how to dirty it up a bit 🙂
- 3 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil
- 3 drops Rain Fragrance Oil (isn’t an essential oil, its a blend of scents, because of this, every brand will smell slightly different. )
Haunted Mansion
This smell is more subtle than Pirates, but it’s there. It’s that old wood, musty smell that you don’t realize you’ve missed until you return.

- 3 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil
- 3 drops Blue Cypress Essential Oil
Jungle Cruise
This recipe is going to give you that mossy, jungly vibe but sadly, does not come with the dad jokes that only a Jungle Cruise Skipper can provide

- 2 drops Bamboo Fragrance Oil (this is not an essential oil)
- 2 drops Rain Fragrance Oil (isn’t an essential oil, its a blend of scents, because of this, every brand will smell slightly different. )
- 2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil
- 1 drop Patchouli Essential Oil
Soarin
For me, Soarin is the best part of California Adventure. I loved it when it was Soarin over California and I love it now that it’s Soarin over the world.
There are a few scenes in this ride that have smells attached. Personally, I love the dry smell of the dirt when the elephants run, but I have teenage boys so I get plenty of dirt smell in this house.
These Disney smells are a bit more pleasing.

Soarin: the islands

- 1 drop Grapefruit Essential Oil
- 5 drops Orange Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lime Essential Oil
Soarin over California

- 3 drops Pine Essential Oil
- 3 drops Orange Essential Oil
Soarin: the beaches

- 3 drops Rain Fragrance Oil (isn’t an essential oil, its a blend of scents, because of this, every brand will smell slightly different. )
- 3 drops Ocean Breeze (same as above, this is a fragrance, not an essential oil)
Soarin: Fiji

- 2 drops Orange Essential Oil
- 2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Disney Smells: Accommodations
Disney hotels also have a signature smell that draws you in and welcomes you back. Here are a few that people love.
Animal Kingdom Lodge

- 1 drop Clove Essential Oil
- 1 drop Pine Essential Oil
- 1 drop Cedarwood Essential Oil
- 1 drop Cinnamon Essential Oil
- 1 drop Orange Essential Oil
- 1 drop Lemon Essential Oil
The Polynesian

- 2 drops Geranium Essential Oil
- 2 drops Pine Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lime Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil
- 2 drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
The Beach Club

I’ve heard that you can buy online an oil called “Green Clover and Aloe” which is the exact smell from the hotel. You can also make a replica here.
- 1 drop Wintergreen Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lime Essential Oil
- 2 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
- 2 drops Tangerine Essential Oil
The Grand Floridian

- 1 drop Geranium Essential Oil
- 1 drop Spearmint Essential Oil
- 1 drop Grapefruit Essential Oil
- 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil
- 1 drop Lime Essential Oil
- 1 drop Vanilla Scent
- 1 drop Cedarwood Essential Oil
Disney Smells: Holidays
What is Christmas without a bit of Disney Magic? In honor of Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe being announced for Disneyland, I started thinking about Christmas Smells at Disney.
Holiday Shoppes

- 1 drop Pine Essential Oil
- 1 drop Cedar Essential Oil
- 1 drop Fir Balsam Essential Oil
- 3 drops Cranberry Fragrance
Holiday Celebrations

- 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 3 drops Strawberries Essential Oil
- 1 drop Vanilla Frangrance Oil
Just a few more thoughts…
You can get all these essential oils online (click on the links above), or right here I have them all combined for you, or from companies such as Young Living or DoTerra. I do not have partnerships with either the essential oil companies or Disney. These may not be exact, but to me, in our home, they are good representations or substitutes for Disney smells.
Buying oils can be expensive at first, but one bottle can last FOREVER because you are only using a drop or 2 at a time. Once you have a good stockpile you can combine it into many different scents. I guarantee you will find yourself using them all the time once you get going.
I hope you enjoy recreating some of these magically nostalgic Disney smells in your own home.

Another option…
If playing chemist isn’t your thing. There is a company called Magic Candle Company that makes pre-made “Disney”-themed smells that come in candles, oils, wax melts, and air fresheners. Check them out. They are wonderful! You can use my code here and save 20% off your first order with them.

P.S. Many essential oils have great mental and physical health benefits too! Keep in mind, that my suggestions in this post are not for oils to be injected or used topically, but to be diffused as aromatherapy.

What a fun idea! I’m going to have to get my oils out and start playing with these blends!
So glad it worked out LOL 🙂
Wow what a unique idea! I love this! We went to Disney on our honeymoon as my husband had never been. I figured I could still get it annulled if he hated it LOL
Yay! Have fun!
Oh my gosh I LOVE this! I am going to do this right now. Now to pick which one!
Great ideas! Who wouldn’t want these Disney smells at home? Especially now with the parks being closed.
How interesting that you can recreate the smells! I went to Disney in high school on a family vacation, but haven’t been able to visit again as an adult. I am looking forward to it, though! Now I can bring the magic home while we plan and save up, thanks for sharing!
