So, you want to go on vacation, right? Your grandma asks “who is your Travel Agent?” You laugh, roll your eyes and explain to her how “these days you don’t NEED a travel agent”. You may be partly right. It’s definitely not impossible to book your own trip, there are more websites to self-book travel than I can count. But… what if I told you that using a travel advisor had some serious benefits? Benefits that these websites and 800 numbers do not have? What if I told you that using a travel advisor doesn’t even cost you anything? What if I told you a travel advisor would do ALL of the work so you could have ALL of the fun?

Hear me out friend, you don’t NEED a travel agent, BUT having a Travel Advisor on your team can make your life better. I’m here to tell you how. If you don’t agree with me by the end of this post, then you have lost nothing but 3 minutes of reading time. If, however, you learn something new or give a travel advisor a try, you might just be about to experience the most amazing trip of your life!

#1 A Travel Advisor Can Save You Time

Travel Agent booking a trip

As mentioned above, there are a ton of booking engines online. If you wanted to you can spend hours, days, weeks sorting through them all and comparing prices, deals, and rates. OR you can email a travel advisor an idea of what you are looking for in a vacation and let them handle the leg work. You sit back and relax, and a few days later you receive an email back with a few select options that meet your budget and wishes. Travel Advisors are weird. They like the research. They like putting together pieces of information to form one beautiful puzzle that equals your vacation. Don’t take that happiness away, let them do the work! Let the travel advisor sit on hold with different companies, let them sort through all the deals.

Have you ever booked a super cool hotel, and got there and realized that the pictures must have been taken 47 years ago? Has the room ever not been what you thought you signed up for? If you book through a generic website or 800 number, who will handle that situation for you? Nobody, because they don’t care.

Your travel advisor knows you. They care about you and your vacation. Shoot them a text at 10 pm when you arrive at the Bates Motel and let them get to the bottom of the problem and solve it. Travel Advisors work hard to develop relationships with different industry contacts. This leads to insider information that can help you get the best place to stay, or tour to go on! They go out of their way to only book you in properties they trust. Travel Advisors are up to date on hotels, resorts, cruise ships, etc. A Travel Advisor will know if there is construction or any other potential issue at a property. No surprises make for a better vacation!

#3 A Travel Advisor can get you a sweet deal

Travel Agents can make your trip better

Sure, you can totally find deals on your own, but often times because of their working relationship with travel partners Travel Advisors can get you an even better deal. Say for example you find a cruise you like and it’s $599, and that sounds great. Your Travel Advisor can get that room for $599 too, but often with perks like onboard credit, drinks, or a free excursion.

Because Travel Advisors work with these partners over and over, they are often given perks and extras that they can pass on to you. Sometimes, they can even get the base rate cheaper due to them being able to have insider advantages. Did you know that traveling as a group can get you bonuses and extra perks on trips? Let your Travel Advisor find all the “hidden” values that can be added on top of your trip to make it over the top in value!

#4 A Travel Advisor will make sure you are ready to go

A good Travel Advisor doesn’t stop working once the booking is set. Nope, that’s just the beginning. A Travel Advisor will continue to monitor your booking to ensure there are no changes or surprises. They will monitor for price adjustments that could continue to save you money, or bonuses that can be added on. The travel Advisor will ensure all the proper confirmations are received and all paperwork is in order. Your Travel Advisor can touch base close to your trip. They will answer any last-minute questions. They will help ensure your check-in is complete. And that you have all the necessary forms, tickets, and information you need for your trip.

You will look like a hero, and it will literally cost you no more money, and way less energy.

You should use a Travel Advisor

Think of your Travel Advisor as your Personal Travel Concierge. Anything you can dream up and even things you haven’t can be provided to you by a Travel Advisor. You’ll love this next level of vacationing. Remember Travel Advisors are often independent agents, or small businesses trying to provide for their family. It costs you nothing, but you help a real person support themselves instead of buying from a large website.

I would love to be YOUR TRAVEL ADVISOR! I can help you plan anything from your ultimate bucket list vacation to a small quiet weekend away. As an Independent Travel Agent, I can book cruises, hotels, air, cars, event tickets, groups, solo travel, adventure travel, and amusement parks! Let me work for you! I love to plan. Research is my favorite hobby. I love to share my passion for discovering new places with anyone who will listen!

To book your next vacation email me and let me figure out where you will go next! You can also use my travel agent booking engine for the best deals if you still want to book on your own.
