25 Remarkable Travel Locations That You Should Consider in 2025

National Geographic recently released its “Top 25 of 2025” list of the best places in the world to travel next year. I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for new ideas to add to my travel list, so I was excited to read what National Geographic suggested.

What I love about this list is that it goes outside of the normal “must-see” travel locations and lists places and experiences that are a little outside the box. Despite traveling at least once a month, I hadn’t heard of a few of these, so it was fun to see something new to learn about.

I can’t wait to hear what you think about these!

The surrounding Dinaric Alps cradle the city, offering breathtaking views at every turn. For history buffs and adventurers alike, Sarajevo provides an unmatched experience, with every corner whispering stories from its past.

When in Sarajevo, visitors should not miss a stroll through Baščaršija, the old bazaar, where they can shop for traditional copperware, sample delicious ćevapi, and sip strong Bosnian coffee.

Take a ride up the Trebević cable car for panoramic views of the city, or visit the Latin Bridge, famously known as the site of Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s assassination, which started World War I.

The best time to visit Sarajevo is late spring through early autumn, from May to September, when the weather is warm and outdoor festivals bring the city to life. Winters are snowy and picturesque, ideal for nearby skiing.
