Dec 2-4: Paris – The City of Lights

Our journey begins in the City of Lights, where Paris transforms into a festive wonderland each December.

I’ve got your transportation to the hotel all taken care of; all you need to do is get off the plane, grab your bags, and take a big, deep breath. As my dad would say ” YOU’RE ON VACATION.”

Everyone arrives at different times, so the day is yours to explore once you drop your bags at the hotel. You’ll have a 48-hour bus pass that takes you to all the best sights. If you need suggestions, I can help. Tonight, we will all get together and do a Seine River Cruise to see the city from a different vantage point.

On Day 2, you’ll see more of Paris’s iconic sights, with ample free time to explore charming Christmas markets and enjoy the festive atmosphere at your own pace.

As night falls, experience the magic of a Christmas light tour through the city’s famous landmarks aglow with holiday sparkle.

Dec 4: Strasbourg – The Capital of Christmas

Arriving in Strasbourg, Europe’s “Capital of Christmas,” we’ll step into the heart of one of the continent’s oldest and most enchanting Christmas markets.

We have time here, as this is our base for the remainder of the tour. Later today, we will take a 1-hour scenic boat ride to learn the town’s history and see the most famous sights. We will also head to the top of Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg a birds-eye view of Strasbourg and enjoying the view of the astronomical clock.

The evening invites you to lose yourself among twinkling lights and decorated stalls, savoring local treats like gingerbread and mulled wine and discovering handcrafted gifts.

Dec 5 : Strasbourg

It’s been a busy few days, and I’m sure you are exhausted. Today is yours for leisurely exploring the town. I can help you with plans or recommendations for the best way to spend the day.

Dec 6 : Day Trip to Obernai

On Day 5, we journey to Obernai, an Alsatian village with a cozy Christmas market known for its culinary delights.

Explore market stalls offering everything from bredele (local Christmas cookies) to Alsatian specialties, surrounded by half-timbered houses and holiday decor that bring this village to life. Obernai’s magical atmosphere and unique flavors make for an unforgettable day in Alsace.

Dec 7: Colmar, Riquewihr, Eguisheim, and Kaysersberg – Alsace’s Christmas Villages

Our next destination is Colmar, a town that feels lifted straight from the pages of a storybook, especially at Christmas. Famous for its charming half-timbered houses and fairytale streets, Colmar’s holiday decor and vibrant Christmas market will transport you to another world.

Wander market stalls filled with handmade gifts, festive foods, and Alsace’s warm, friendly spirit. With its enchanting ambiance, Colmar captures the very essence of Christmas.

• Explore Unique Markets in Nearby Villages

We will take the shuttle from Colmar to Riquewihr, Eguisheim, and Kaysersberg, three of Alsace’s most captivating villages, each with its own distinctive holiday market:

• Riquewihr: Stroll the cobblestone streets of this charming village, which inspired Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Decorated for the season, Riquewihr’s market offers artisanal crafts, holiday treats, and a magical atmosphere that will enchant you.
• Eguisheim: Known for its circular layout and quaint half-timbered houses, Eguisheim’s market features traditional Alsatian handicrafts, local wines, and festive decor, making this cozy village a heartwarming holiday stop.
• Kaysersberg: A Christmas favorite, Kaysersberg’s market is filled with artisanal products and seasonal delights. Explore the narrow streets and medieval buildings as you find perfect gifts, sample local foods, and soak up the true spirit of Christmas.

Dec 8 : Basel – A Swiss Christmas

Our final stop takes us to Basel, Switzerland, where we’ll experience one last taste of Christmas magic. Basel’s Christmas market is known for its unique Swiss holiday offerings, delicious food, and festive ambiance. Celebrate our journey with a farewell dinner, sharing memories and new friendships made.

Explore the market to find that last special gift or savor a Swiss holiday treat, ending our trip on a heartwarming note.

Dec 9: Departure

As our journey ends, you’ll leave with cherished memories, a heart full of holiday cheer, and a unique connection with a beautiful group of women.

Today we will take the train back to Paris (or you can fly from Basel or Strasbourg) to head back home.
