20 Best Places For Solo Female Travelers

For years, I hesitated to travel alone. Like many women, I feared the unknown, the unfamiliar, and the whispers of doubt that society often feeds us. Recently, though, I realized if I kept waiting for others to join me, I might miss out on everything I wanted to do and see in my life.

So, I took a deep breath and booked a ticket. I cried at the airport. I felt weird and lonely checking into my hotel, and then… everything changed.

I felt great! I did whatever I wanted. I ordered room service and spent a whole day in bed. I took tours, danced in the streets, talked to old men in restaurants, and learned more about life and myself than I ever thought I could.

Every trip became an affirmation of my independence and a reminder of my strength. From navigating bustling European train stations to hiking mountain trails solo, each experience taught me resilience and resourcefulness.

Beyond the logistics, solo travel offered me something deeper: freedom. I could go where I wanted, linger where I pleased, and embrace every moment without compromise.

If you’re considering your first solo trip or are a seasoned traveler looking for your next adventure, this list of the 20 best destinations for solo female travelers is here to inspire you.

Each place is safe, welcoming, and brimming with opportunities for personal growth and unforgettable experiences.

Beware, though, I don’t know what kind of magic is in the Scottish air, but once you breathe it in, you’ll never be free of Scotland. I seriously haven’t stopped thinking about it since the day I left. It might have something to do with the cows. 😉
